Foods You Can Eat During Invisalign Treatment
Invisalign is a popular orthodontic option that can straighten teeth without the irritation or discomfort of metal brackets, bands or wires. It is designed to be easy to use and easy to wear. Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible and can be easily removed for eating and brushing.
Although some types of orthodontics require significant changes in lifestyle, Invisalign can fit into even the busiest life. You can continue eating everything you love because you simply take your aligners out for meals or snacks. You will not have to worry about your favorite foods and snacks damaging your appliances. You can even continue playing sports: Simply remove your aligners, place your mouth guard and put your aligners back in when you are done.
After eating, you will still need to brush and floss your teeth carefully to remove plaque and debris, and then you will need to place your Invisalign aligners since they must be worn about 22 hours a day for the best results. At night, simply remove your aligners and clean them according to our dentist’s instructions before putting them back in.
Not all patients are candidates for Invisalign. If you have crossbite, underbite, overbite, crooked teeth, widely spaced teeth or closely spaced teeth, our Rocklin orthodontist suggests Invisalign may be right for you. It may not be appropriate for patients with extensive bridgework or who need certain types of precise vertical movements to create a healthier smile.
